Description

This is a 16″ x 20″ oil painting done in impressionistic style of the waterfalls and cave at Cascade Park in Newcastle, PA, a very beloved landmark for their city.  This park is so beautiful that I couldn’t get enough photos.  This painting was done to enter the first Annual Lawrence County Artist Competition at the Lawrence County Courthouse.  It showed in a group exhibit from June through July 2018 and HAD to be from that county.  It is all in beautiful blues, purples, oranges, greens, soft whites, grays, browns, and is very serene with a very real waterfall coming over the cave.  I literally was swept away into a dreamlike state as I painted this, thus the title.  It is very detailed, yet loose and painterly at the same time.  The sun hits the rocks and leaves of the trees just right.  This is by far my favorite painting of a water scene in a park to date.  It has a dark bluish/gray and black with white grain wooden frame that goes with the gray rocks and really lets the painting speak for itself with its colorful waterfall and misty bottom on the river.  I LOVE THIS PAINTING. But, I will let it go if you love it as much as I do, and are from the area, especially!
