Description
This is a Hydrus watercolor on paper, meaning very intense, opaque, ink-like paint. It is of two, giant tomatoes, one on the table, and the other on top of a colander. The colors are in reds, dark gray, purple, and ochre. Mostly earthy and lifelike. This is part of a set, see “Marianna Tomatoes”, framed in a gorgeous wooden plank and metal frame, held together with metal tacking and strips. It is very rustic, like old Tuscany, and I could see this with its mate, in an Italian kitchen, or a gift to someone who is a gardener and loves to can her/his own tomatoes!
